If you’ve been following Miami construction for years, then you know about 1390 Brickell Bay. I wrote an article about it in June of 2007 because its was a bad concept with an equally terrible marketing scheme. Now, on the same parcel, there are plans for Brickell House.
There’s no question that the design and marketing schemes are better with Brickell House than they were for the failed 1390 development. But, I fail to see how prospective buyers will get over the boxed in nature of the development and can’t understand why the architects didn’t tilt the building a bit more southeast to have it face over the lower Emerald condo rather than the taller Jade. The rendering above shows the building outline facing straight at Jade.
1390 Brickell was designed by Zyscovich and proposed to be 478ft. in height with 49 floors at an estimated cost of $158,000,000.
