I went to last night’s Marlins game, and I couldn’t help but think how great it would be if I were in Downtown. I’d be near everything I deem to be important. Tourists would be near major attractions and important sites. The nearby skyline would grace the background. As the Phillies gradually erased any hope of a Marlins victory, I delved further into thought. Loria’s thoughts seem to be in the same place. The Sun Sentinel recently reported on Loria’s tunnel vision for Downtown Miami. He is optimistic the park will be a reality by 2011. Although I’d like to agree on the time frame, I’m not so sure I can. In my gut I feel that the Marlins stadium will end up in Downtown and posterity will likely not imagine the stadium being any where else.
